The farm, which was once part of the lands of the Sienese Tolomei family, is a farm located in the heart of the Maremma (Tuscany region), just 15 minutes by car from the city of Grosseto, 25 minutes from the sea and 2 hours from the airports of Rome and Florence.
Its more than 900 hectares are home to about 200 Chianina cows, raised in a non-intensive way, in full respect of animal welfare, selected and registered in the Tuscan IGP herd book.
It belongs to the Municipality of Campagnatico which Dante names in his divine Comedia where the figure of Omberto Aldobrandeschi, second son of Guglielmo, of the ancient Aldobrandeschi family, counts of Soana and Pitigliano is remembered. The noble Omberto, who had the lordship of Campagnatico, is placed by Dante in Purgatory, to pay for the sin of pride: the pride originated from the pride of belonging to an ancient family, which led him, in life, to despise others , forgetting the common origin of all men.
« I was Latin and born of a great Tosco: Guiglielmo Aldobrandesco was my father; I don't know if his name was ever already yours. The ancient blood and the graceful works
I was so arrogant of my elders that, not thinking of the common mother, I had every man in my heart so much forward, that I died of her, as the Sanesi know and sallo in Campagnatico every infantryman; I am Omberto; and not even to me do they give pride, because all my spouses have traits with her in illness.
